Whau (Tree)
Large, soft leaves. Large white flowers (spring), spikey seed pods. Fast growing in rich soils. Grows in sheltered coastal valleys.

Last Year's Seedpod
This large whau nestles in the shelter of the back dunes south of Karekare on Auckland's West Coast.
